Extras

This canoe is the second generation, rudderless canoe designed by Phillipe and Tiger. The first version was the venerable Teva Nui which was used in two IVF World Sprints and will be used in the upcoming World Sprints in Calgary.

In Tahiti V-1 canoes are more common than bicycles.  Tahitian paddlers can all paddle steer, stroke and maneuver thru the water by paddling only.  No rudder.  No poking.  No drag.

The V-1 hasn’t taken off in Hawaii yet but the world sees it as the ultimate paddling performance measure for individual paddlers.  The world sprints use only V1 for individual racing.  We are hoping more Hawaii paddlers take V1 training to heart.
