The Tiger Canoes V-6 Makika or "mosquito" was designed by John Puakea to be an open ocean, down-wind run canoe.  Light and easily maneuverable, the canoe was meant to skip thru the ocean, connecting waves seamlessly.  And it does. This canoe also does remarkably well in the flat and has received rave reviews as a training tool for 6 man paddling racing.
