Cable Maintenance

It is important to rinse the cable mounting areas with fresh water after every use. Periodic application of of WD40 or similar solvent into the cable housing will help dissolve salt build up and lube cables.

1) With the bow position lower than the stern, apply WD40 into the cable chase with the thin nozzle. Apply for about 10 seconds into each chase.

2) Repeat same procedure into the front pedals with the stern positioned lower than bow.

Always inspect your cables for wear and fraying. A broken cable in adverse weather conditions can be a harrowing experience. Have your cable replaced every few years to ensure safety. Tiger Canoe can provide cable kits for most canoe models.
